Plot summary
Tod Ramsey and Dan Thomas, Confederate veterans with no money and no home, are on their way to Texas to start over. On the road they witness a stagecoach robbery and turn the tables on the outlaws, keeping the stolen cash. Tod wants to give it back; Dan wants to keep it. A posse scatters them, and they do not meet again for a long time. Tod takes a job with rancher Dusty King, whose daughter Mike is friendly and beautiful. Dan takes work with a rancher who deals in rustling. Both men are drawn to Mike, while the valley's ranchers must get their herds to the railroad at Abilene past the rustlers.
