Tom London
Biography
Tom London was an American actor who became a fixture of B-Westerns, and reference books credited him with more screen appearances than any other Hollywood performer. Born in Louisville, Kentucky, he entered the industry as a props man in Chicago and made his debut in 1915 in the Western Lone Larry, acting under his own name until he was billed as Tom London in Winds of Chance. A trick rider and roper, he put those skills to use in scores of Westerns, playing villains during the silent era and later turning up as a sidekick to stars such as Sunset Carson. He appeared in more than 600 films, among them High Noon, and made guest appearances on television programs through the 1950s. His last film was Underworld U.S.A. in 1961, and his final television roles came in Lawman and The Dakotas. He died in 1963.
