Plot summary
Six computer programmers serving prison time for hacking leave on work release, supervised by the corrections officer Capra. They are to restart the systems of a derelict spacecraft found adrift in space. Before the work starts, Mel demands to lead the team, bringing up an earlier work release on which Kaida was involved in a fellow prisoner's death, and Capra puts Mel in charge. Power returns and the hackers spread out to separate terminals on different decks, talking to one another through virtual headsets. The ship then goes into lockdown with all of them aboard, and the vessel's artificial intelligence begins to act against them.

- Writer-director David Hewlett was inspired by Stanley Kubrick's 2001: A Space Odyssey, which he saw as a child, and wanted to make a film from the point of view of HAL 9000; that idea was rejected as too artistic and the plot was retooled to be more similar to Final Destination.
