Isla Fisher
Biography
Isla Fisher is an Australian actress who started out as a child in television commercials and first drew attention playing Shannon Reed on the soap Home and Away from 1994 to 1997, work that brought Logie Award nominations. She moved into Hollywood with Scooby-Doo (2002), then broke through in Wedding Crashers (2005), a role that won her the MTV Movie Award for Best Breakthrough Performance. Her other films include The Great Gatsby (2013) and Now You See Me (2013), plus Nocturnal Animals (2016), Bachelorette (2012), Confessions of a Shopaholic (2009), and Wedding Daze (2006). She has voiced characters in Rango (2011) and Rise of the Guardians (2012), and also in Horton Hears a Who! (2008), Back to the Outback (2021), and Dog Man (2025). On television she appeared in Arrested Development and has starred in Wolf Like Me, and she has written novels, including the Marge in Charge books.

Early training
Fisher enrolled at L'École Internationale de Théâtre Jacques Lecoq in Paris after leaving Home and Away. That theater and arts training school was followed by pantomime appearances in the United Kingdom.

At age 9, Fisher first appeared on Australian television in commercials. Her professional acting debut came in 1993, when she had two guest-starring roles on the children's shows Bay City and Paradise Beach.
