Did you know?!Facts and trivia about The Brothers Grimsby (2016)
Can contain spoilers, watch the movie first.
- Sacha Baron Cohen scouted real English towns for the film's setting incognito, including being spotted in a Grimsby Town shirt at a match against Cambridge United and chatting with fans in a pub afterward; he also checked out Scunthorpe, Hull and Newcastle before settling on Grimsby.
- Real residents of Grimsby objected to the film, upset that Baron Cohen portrayed their town as a rubbish-strewn, violent place where drunks urinate from windows and mothers hand children beer in the street.
- The film badly missed its box-office target: projected to open at $7-8 million, it took in just $1.2 million on its first day, and estimates were slashed before it finished its opening weekend at $3.3 million.
