Biography
Rebel Wilson is an Australian comedian, actress and producer who was born in Sydney in 1980. She began her career after attending the Australian Theatre for Young People and appearing in the SBS comedy series Pizza, then the sketch show The Wedge. In 2008 she was a writer, producer and star of the musical comedy series Bogan Pride. After moving to the United States, she appeared in Bridesmaids (2011) and A Few Best Men (2011), then in What to Expect When You're Expecting (2012) and Bachelorette (2012). She gained wider recognition for playing Fat Amy in the Pitch Perfect film series, which ran from 2012 to 2017, and won an MTV Movie Award for best actor. In 2019 she had her first lead roles in Isn't It Romantic and The Hustle, and she appeared in Jojo Rabbit. She starred in and produced the Netflix comedy Senior Year (2022).

Wilson won the ATYP International scholarship in 2003, funded by Nicole Kidman, and used it to move to New York, where she trained with The Second City.

Wilson replaced Casey Wilson in the 2012 film Bachelorette, a casting change reported by Borys Kit of The Hollywood Reporter in August 2011.

Wilson wrote, produced and starred in The Westie Monologues, the 2002 Sydney stage musical that first brought her to public attention.

Wilson made her West End debut as Miss Adelaide in Guys and Dolls, playing the role from 28 June to 21 August 2016.
