Plot summary
Syd has been drinking and using drugs heavily since London ended their two-year relationship six months ago. A friend calls to tell him that her friends are holding a farewell party before she moves to California with a new boyfriend, and Syd, enraged, wrecks his apartment. He decides to show up without an invitation. He first meets Bateman in a bar to buy cocaine, and invites the banker to come along. The party takes place in a condominium owned by the parents of Rebecca, a club girl. Syd and Bateman shut themselves in the bathroom, snorting cocaine and drinking tequila while they talk about love, sex, God, women and pain.
