Plot summary
Mickey Dawson is married to Frank Dawson, a corrupt real estate developer in late-1970s Detroit. Two criminals, Louis and Ordell, plan to take her and collect a $1 million ransom, counting on Frank's reluctance to involve the police. Louis spots Mickey at the country club where her son Bo plays tennis, and Mickey turns down advances from Marshall Taylor, a married man who does jobs for Frank. With Frank and Bo away, the masked pair seize Mickey from her kitchen and lock the visiting Marshall in a closet. She is kept blindfolded at the house of Richard, an admirer of Nazis, while Ordell telephones Frank in the Bahamas, where he is staying with his mistress Melanie. Frank shows little interest in paying.
