Plot summary
Four magicians, Merritt McKinney, Henley Reeves, Jack Wilder and J. Daniel Atlas, each receive a flash card that leads them to a New York apartment, where instructions left by an unknown benefactor appear in holographic form. A year later they appear in Las Vegas as the Four Horsemen, sponsored by the insurance magnate Arthur Tressler. Their final trick sends a spectator inside a Crédit Républicain vault in Paris, and euros shower the crowd while the vault in Paris is discovered empty of a recent shipment. The case falls to FBI agent Dylan Rhodes, with Interpol sending Alma Dray to work alongside him, and Thaddeus Bradley, a former magician who exposes tricks, is brought in.
