Boots and Saddles (1937) on Netflix

Plot summary

Word at the ranch is that its new owner is coming from England to sell it. Gene Autry, who manages the place, and Frog Millhouse promised the boy's father they would make a Westerner of him. The hands call the young Earl of Granby Spud, and Gene urges him to keep the ranch and raise horses for the Army instead of selling. Jim Neale, a rancher the estate owes money to, wants the land and threatens a court case. Gene and the others ride to the Army post to bid for the remount contract, where he meets Bernice Allen, the purchasing colonel's daughter, and finds his bid matched by Neale's.
