Plot summary
Journalist Matt Corbin is on a fishing trip through Wisconsin when he reaches a town that is nearly empty. The few people still living there are secretive and hostile, and none of them welcomes a stranger with questions. Steve Loomis, who runs the lodge, warns Matt away and says that all the fish in the region died years ago, so there is nothing for him to catch. The explanation does not satisfy Matt, and he decides to stay and find out what is going on. A group is holed up at the lodge, and the residents of the town say as little about it as they can.
