Plot summary
Dr. Henryk Savaard runs a laboratory in his home, where he works at restoring life to the dead. He has built an artificial heart, and Bob Roberts, a young medical student, agrees to be killed for a short while so the device can be tested. Bob's fiancée, Ms. Crawford, fears the attempt will fail and calls the police. Officers enter the house mid-experiment; Savaard has his assistant Lang hide the artificial heart and insists he can still revive Bob. He is arrested for murder and put on trial.
