Plot summary
Sir Geoffrey Radcliffe faces execution for a murder he did not commit, the killing of his brother Michael. His appeal fails, so his best friend Dr. Frank Griffin and Geoffrey's fiancée Helen set a plan in motion. Griffin, brother of the original invisible man, injects Geoffrey with an invisibility serum and warns that the drug causes madness. Geoffrey disappears from his cell after Griffin visits. Detective Sampson of Scotland Yard hears Griffin's name, recalls the earlier invisible man case, and pieces together what happened. Griffin leaves clothes for Geoffrey, and Helen hides him in a cottage. Geoffrey hunts the real murderer while Griffin looks for an antidote. Griffin also vows to stop Geoffrey if the madness shows itself.
