Sid Haig
Biography
Sid Haig was an American actor known for horror films and roles in Jack Hill's exploitation movies. He began as a young dancer and drummer before taking his first screen role in Jack Hill's 1960 student film The Host. Haig worked repeatedly for Hill in Spider Baby, Coffy, and Foxy Brown, and appeared in Point Blank and THX 1138. On television he played the villain Dragos on Jason of Star Command and guest starred on programs such as Batman, Star Trek, Charlie's Angels, and MacGyver. After retiring from acting for a time in 1992, he returned as Captain Spaulding in three Rob Zombie films: House of 1000 Corpses (2003), then The Devil's Rejects (2005), and finally 3 from Hell (2019). The part earned him Fangoria Chainsaw Awards, and he was called a horror icon. Other credits included Jackie Brown (1997), The Lords of Salem (2013), Hatchet III, and the posthumous releases Hanukkah (2020) and Abruptio (2023).
