Plot summary
Money, casting, practical effects and distribution are the obstacles that shape a career in independent film, and they are set out here through one filmmaker's experience over five years. People who work in the business describe how projects get financed, how the right talent is drawn in and how a finished film is sold, along with the stamina the work asks for. The project began after the filmmaker's third feature, Skull World, as a guide he wished he could have consulted a decade earlier, and it premiered at the Superchannel Canadian Film Fest before screening at FrightFest, where it took the Best Documentary award.
