Plot summary
Fidel Castro is at war with the corrupt government of Fulgencio Batista in Cuba when Ernesto "Che" Guevara, a young Argentine doctor, lands on the island in 1956 and joins the struggle against Batista. Guevara proves his mettle in the Cuban guerrilla war of the late 1950s. The men he fights beside come to respect him, and he takes charge of a patrol. Castro, impressed by his tactics and his discipline, makes him his chief adviser. The fighting against Batista's army goes on for two years. Guevara dreams of a revolution that spreads across the world rather than staying on one island.
