Biography

Dee Wallace is an American actress who began her career on television before becoming a scream queen in horror films. Born in Kansas City, Kansas, she was inspired to act by her mother, a stage actress and producer. She appeared in The Stepford Wives (1975) and The Hills Have Eyes (1977), starred in The Howling (1981) and Cujo (1983), and played Mary Taylor in Steven Spielberg's E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial (1982) and was nominated for a Saturn Award for Best Supporting Actress. Her horror credits include Critters (1986), The Frighteners (1996), and The House of the Devil (2009), along with The Lords of Salem (2012), while she also appeared in comedies such as 10 (1979) and Secret Admirer (1985). On television, Wallace had a leading role in Together We Stand and in The New Lassie and later guest-starred on Bones, Grey's Anatomy, Criminal Minds, and The Office. She was nominated for a Daytime Emmy for General Hospital.
