Biography

Ray Wise is an American actor from Akron, Ohio, who has worked widely in horror and science fiction. Early on he spent seven years on the daytime drama Love of Life, appearing in close to 950 episodes as the lawyer Jamie Rollins. He is best known as Leland Palmer, Laura Palmer's father, in Twin Peaks and its prequel film Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me (1992). His movie credits take in Swamp Thing (1982), RoboCop (1987), Dead End (2003), Good Night, and Good Luck (2005), Jeepers Creepers 2 (2003), Bob Roberts (1992), The Journey of Natty Gann (1985) and God's Not Dead 2 (2016). On television he portrayed the Devil in Reaper, Vice President Hal Gardner on 24 and Ian Ward on The Young and the Restless, and he voiced Perry White in Superman: Doomsday and Commissioner Gordon in The Killing Joke.
