Plot summary
After a scientist named Hank is killed while helping a secret bioengineering project in the swamps, government worker Alice Cable arrives to take his place. She finds one of the swamp sensors has stopped working, and Harry Ritter tells her Hank had been trying to repair it when he died. Charlie passes on a rumor that a paramilitary leader, Anton Arcane, intends to seize the operation. At the camp, Alice meets the lead scientist, Dr. Alec Holland, and his sister and partner, Dr. Linda Holland, who presents a glowing plant-based formula she has developed. Alec notices that droplets of the formula make plants grow rapidly wherever they touch.
