Plot summary
Deb Clarington is a camera operator for a local news station. At a bar, her friend Ruby nudges her toward Ryan Waverly, and her clumsy attempt to talk to him ends when Ryan's fiancée arrives and calls off their engagement over a job at his father's company that he has turned down. Deb wakes in Ryan's bed the next morning, hungover. He wants her to leave, and from outside she sees people attacking and eating one another. She frees Ryan from an attacker and they retreat to his apartment, where he worries about his family and about his former fiancée. Because Ryan has no car, Deb agrees to drive him, beginning with a stop at his elderly neighbor's house for supplies.
