Plot summary
The realm is medieval, and its king and queen have two daughters. The elder is the princess. Violet is her younger sister. Because no son was born, the king arranges a marriage for the princess. Her intended husband is Julius, the ruthless son of a royal diplomat who believes a monarch should rule with an iron fist. With her mother's approval, the princess learned to fight from Linh, a royal adviser's niece. She refuses Julius at the altar. He answers by taking the castle with Moira, who wields a whip, and a band of mercenaries.
