Plot summary
Donna Sheridan owns the Villa Donna, a small hotel on the Greek island of Kalokairi, and Sophie, her twenty-year-old daughter, is getting ready to marry Sky there. Reading her mother's diary, Sophie learns that three men were close to Donna around the time she was conceived. She sends wedding invitations to Sam Carmichael, Harry Bright and Bill Anderson without telling her mother, and Donna has not seen any of them in more than twenty years. Sophie wants the man who is her father to walk her down the aisle, and her bridesmaids Ali and Lisa help her with the search. Donna's old friends Tanya and Rosie also arrive for the wedding.
