Peter Weller
Biography
Peter Weller is an American actor and television director who began his career on the stage in the 1970s and has worked in film, television, and voice acting. Born in Stevens Point, Wisconsin, he studied theater at the University of North Texas and later at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts. His early films include Shoot the Moon (1982) and Firstborn (1984), and he played the title character in The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai Across the 8th Dimension (1984). He portrayed RoboCop in RoboCop (1987) and RoboCop 2 (1990), earning a Saturn Award nomination, and appeared in Naked Lunch (1991), The New Age (1994), and Screamers (1995). He later played Admiral Alexander Marcus in Star Trek Into Darkness (2013). On television he hosted Engineering an Empire and had roles in 24, Dexter, Sons of Anarchy, Longmire, and The Last Ship. He also directed episodes of several series and received an Academy Award nomination for his short film Partners.
