Plot summary
Tom Newman is a hydro-electrical engineer hired to work on a dam near a South African resort, and he has brought his family along. He hopes the trip will help his daughter Jessica warm to his new wife Amy, whom Jessica blames for her parents' divorce. Amy sets out on a morning game drive with Jessica and David and their ranger, Brian. Brian and David leave the car on foot, and a pride of lions appears. Brian holds the keys, so the three cannot drive off, and the animals try to break in. That night the lodge staff tell Tom his family is missing. Park rangers start a helicopter search, and Tom hires Crawford, a professional hunter and guide, to help.
