David Selby
Biography
David Selby is an American actor and writer whose career has moved between daytime television, prime-time soaps, film and the stage. Born in Morgantown, West Virginia, he began acting in theater while at college and toured in The Impossible Years before joining Dark Shadows in 1968 as Quentin Collins, a role he played until the show ended in 1971 and repeated in the film Night of Dark Shadows (1971). He co-starred with Barbra Streisand in Up the Sandbox (1972) and was nominated for a Golden Raspberry for Raise the Titanic (1980), then, after playing the villain in the last season of Flamingo Road, took the part of Richard Channing across 209 episodes of Falcon Crest from 1982 to 1990. His later film work includes Dying Young (1991), White Squall (1996) and Surviving Christmas (2004), and he voiced Commissioner James Gordon in Batman: The Dark Knight Returns (2012). Selby has also written plays, poetry and novels.

Selby was cast as Quentin Collins on Dark Shadows after a talent agent saw him in a production of Summer and Smoke, and he had never heard of the show before the audition.
