Biography

Richard Brake is a Welsh and American actor who grew up largely in the United States after being born in Ystrad Mynach, Wales. He made his film debut in Death Machine (1994) and later drew mainstream attention as Joe Chill in Batman Begins (2005). His many horror credits include Doom (2005), Hannibal Rising (2007), Mandy (2018), and Barbarian (2022), while his first lead role came in Perfect Skin (2018), a performance that earned him Best Actor honors at the First Glance Film Festival and at the Vancouver Badass Film Festival. He has worked repeatedly with Rob Zombie, appearing in Halloween II (2009), 31 (2016), 3 from Hell (2019), and The Munsters (2022). On television he is known for playing the Night King on Game of Thrones, Vlad on Ray Donovan, Merle Callahan on Mayor of Kingstown, and Conrad Harlow on Absentia.
