Plot summary
D.C., a former Royal Marine turned mercenary, is hired by the businessman Hunt to recruit a team for a job in no-man's land. Prior, Jordan, Cotter, Voyteche, McKay and Taktarov sign on to guard Hunt on a journey into an Eastern European war zone, where he says a company has real estate to inspect. Most of the trip is by truck through forest, under artillery and jets, until a burst of static knocks out the radios. At the bunker site, two men stay above ground while the others go in. A flash from the trees draws a shot, and the single round that returns hits McKay in the arm. The outpost looks abandoned, and Hunt and D.C. work to restore the generator.
