Biography

Michaela Watkins is an American actress and comedian who came out of the Los Angeles comedy troupe The Groundlings. Born in Syracuse, New York, and raised in its DeWitt suburb, she studied theater and acting at Boston University before performing onstage in Portland, Oregon, and later with Los Angeles companies. She drew widespread attention as a featured player on NBC's Saturday Night Live during its 34th season, from 2008 to 2009, and has since starred on the Hulu series Casual and the sitcoms Trophy Wife and The Unicorn. Her recurring television work includes The New Adventures of Old Christine, Enlightened, Catastrophe and Search Party. Among her film roles are The Back-up Plan (2010), Wanderlust (2012), Enough Said (2013), In a World..., Afternoon Delight, They Came Together, Sword of Trust (2019) and Suze (2023). She also co-created and executive produced the USA Network comedy Benched.
