Plot summary
Alex Johansen's acceptance to Bucknell University is meant to be covered by the scholarship her community awards, but at a town hall meeting councilor Bob Schaeffer announces the program is being dropped in favor of a community pool. Scott and Kate Johansen look for the money elsewhere, and a loan, a raise for Scott and the return of Kate's job are all refused. Their neighbor and friend Frank Theodorakis, whose wife Raina wants a divorce, takes them to Las Vegas. There Frank persuades the couple to open an underground casino in his house, both to cover Alex's tuition and to help him get Raina back.
