Plot summary
Josephine Prendergast gives retro-futurist tours of the House of Tomorrow, the geodesic dome that serves as her home and as a dated tourist museum. Her grandson Sebastian lives there with her, and he longs to leave his isolated existence. Josephine is devoted to the futurist R. Buckminster Fuller, and her tours include video of Fuller himself. Then Sebastian meets Jared Whitcomb, a teenage punk rocker with a heart replacement, and Jared's sister Meredith. Inspired by Jared, Sebastian rebels: Jared's example pushes him to take an electric bass guitar, and the two form a punk rock group. Both of them want to become punk gods and survive high school.
