Plot summary
Each Valentine's Day for the past few years, a killer called the Heart Eyes Killer has hunted couples, moving to a different American city each time. This year two couples are murdered in Seattle, and a wedding band marked with the letters J.S. is found nearby. Ally McCabe, a marketer for a jewelry company, has just broken up with Collin, and her campaign about doomed couples has been mocked. Her boss Crystal Cane orders her to work on a new campaign with freelancer Jay Simmonds, whom she met earlier at a coffee shop. He asks her to dinner for ideas.
