Plot summary
The Bean Bag Boys, as Max, Lucas and Thor call themselves, are starting sixth grade with separate worries. Max likes Brixlee, a girl in his class; Lucas has just heard that his parents are splitting up; and Thor, mocked by classmates, is discouraged from singing. Soren, one of the popular students, invites Max to a party where there will be girls, and Brixlee will be there. Max has never kissed anybody and turns to Lucas and Thor for advice. The three of them study the subject, then borrow the drone Max's father warned him not to touch and fly it over the yard of Hannah, the teenager who lives next door. Hannah and her friend Lily spot it and bring it down.

Can contain spoilers, watch the movie first.
- Cinematographer Jonathan Furmanski's biggest scene, the boys running across a highway, used multiple units and took over five days: three days of filming plus two of stunt and visual-effects work. Because the crew could not film at a real highway with active traffic, it was shot on a makeshift 300-foot highway built on an unused airport runway.
- Good Boys overperformed to debut at $21 million and became the first R-rated comedy in three years, since The Boss, to finish first at the box office.
