Ken Marino
Biography
Ken Marino is an American actor, comedian, director and screenwriter who co-founded the comedy troupe The State while studying at New York University. Born on Long Island, New York, he performed with The State after college, and the group's MTV sketch series ran from 1993 to 1995. He became known for television comedy, including Party Down, Childrens Hospital and The Other Two, and starred as Victor in Wet Hot American Summer (2001). He wrote the screenplay for Diggers (2006) and, with David Wain, wrote and produced The Ten (2007), Role Models (2008) and Wanderlust (2012), appearing in all three. He also played Mr. Johnson in The Babysitter (2017) and its sequel The Babysitter: Killer Queen (2020), and has directed episodes of sitcoms such as The Goldbergs.

Behind the camera
Marino wrote the screenplay for Diggers, a 2006 coming-of-age movie that takes place on Long Island in the mid-1970s. With David Wain, a fellow member of The State, he wrote and produced The Ten, Role Models and Wanderlust, all directed by Wain.
A role that slipped away
Marino landed a starring role in a remake of The Courtship of Eddie's Father, a TV series, but the pilot was not picked up. He then joined the Starz original series Party Down.
First role
In Fall 2026, Marino will begin a national tour of Death Becomes Her, playing Ernest Menville. It will be his first time performing on stage.
