John Glover
Biography
John Glover is an American actor known for quirky and villainous roles in film, television and theater. He was born in Kingston, New York, and grew up in Salisbury, Maryland. He started out at the Barter Theatre in Abingdon, Virginia, and trained at the Beverly Hills Playhouse with Milton Katselas. His early television work included Search for Tomorrow, and his early film work included White Nights (1985). He went on to appear in Scrooged (1988), Masquerade (1988), Gremlins 2: The New Batch (1990), RoboCop 2 (1990), Payback (1999) and Batman & Robin (1997). On television, he was Lionel Luthor in Smallville between 2001 and 2008 and voiced the Riddler in Batman: The Animated Series. He received Emmy nominations for An Early Frost and Frasier. On Broadway, he won a Tony Award for Love! Valour! Compassion! and earned a nomination for Waiting for Godot. He also voiced characters in Tron projects and narrated audiobooks.

Glover took home a Tony Award for Featured Actor in a Play thanks to his dual roles in the Broadway production Love! Valour! Compassion!, and he played those same parts again in the film version.
