Plot summary
Death is what Miles Grissom cannot stop thinking about, and his fear of it has left him paralyzed. He wants to know that people go on after they die, so he places an advertisement promising $30,000 to whoever can show him an angel, a demon or a ghost. A number of people answer, and he narrows the answers down to three who seem worth taking seriously. One is a scientist, one is a medium, and one is an entrepreneur who knows the wider world. His protective mother travels beside him as he makes his way through Los Angeles to meet them.
