Plot summary
Separated from his mother at a carnival when he was small, Billy Batson keeps running away from foster homes to look for her. A social worker places him with Víctor and Rosa Vásquez, who have five other foster children, among them Freddy Freeman, a superhero enthusiast. After Billy stands up to bullies and is chased into a subway car, he lands in the Rock of Eternity, where an ancient wizard who has searched for centuries for a champion of pure heart chooses him. One word, Shazam, turns Billy into an adult superhero, and Freddy helps him test what he can do. Thaddeus Sivana, rejected by the wizard as a boy, has found his way back to the temple and become the vessel of the Seven Deadly Sins, and he wants that power for himself.
