Iris Adrian
Biography
Iris Adrian was an American actress of stage and screen. Born in Los Angeles and raised there by her mother, she won a beauty pageant before working with the Ziegfeld Follies and performing with Fred Waring. Chasing Husbands marked her screen debut as the silent era closed, and she took extra and chorus girl work in early sound films. In the 1930s she specialized in hard-boiled gals, gold-diggers and gangsters' molls. Her role as Gee-Gee Graham came in Lady of Burlesque (1943). She appeared as a glamorous movie star in The Errand Boy (1961) and acted in more than one hundred films by the late 1960s without achieving stardom. Later roles included several Walt Disney films such as That Darn Cat! (1965) and The Love Bug (1968), plus The Odd Couple (1968), often as wisecracking waitresses and landladies. She also did radio and television, with guest roles in Get Smart, Green Acres, Petticoat Junction and The Munsters.
