The Apple Dumpling Gang (1975) on Netflix

Plot summary

In Quake City, a gambler named Russell Donovan is on his way to New Orleans to open a casino when an old associate, John Wintle, pays him to sign for valuables arriving on the next stagecoach. The valuables prove to be three orphans, Bobby, Clovis and Celia Bradley, whose guardian Wintle has already left town. The stagecoach driver, Magnolia Dusty Clydesdale, explains the arrangement, and Homer McCoy, who serves as sheriff, barber and justice of the peace, tells Donovan that he is legally bound to the children unless someone else takes custody. The children drive off every prospective guardian and wreck property around Quake City, leaving Donovan to pay for the damage. The orphans then visit a gold mine they inherited and find a large nugget, which makes many people want to adopt them.
