Plot summary
The East Side Boys have had enough of the muggings troubling their streets. Outside a store one afternoon, Muggs McGinnis and his friends see a man set upon in an alley and drive his attackers off. The man, millionaire John Cortland, hands Muggs his card; Muggs throws it in a garbage can, and Glimpy McClosky digs it out and finds a wallet in the trash. The boys take the wallet to Captain Mathews, who jails them as the robbers until Cortland arrives and names them his rescuers. Learning that the gang wants a gymnasium, Cortland invites them home and offers them the basement gymnasium of his son John Jr., who is overseas. There they meet his daughter Louise, his son Roy and Louise's fiancé, Andre Dupree.
