Eily Malyon
Biography
The English character actress Eily Malyon worked on stage and in films from about 1900 to the 1940s. Born in Islington, London, she grew up accompanying her actress mother on tour and began on stage as her mother's understudy at Drury Lane. She then built more experience in London repertory with the Stage Society. In Australia she joined Ethel Irving's company, which J. C. Williamson took to Melbourne in 1911 for The Witness for the Defence, and she later toured with Williamson's English comedy company in Milestones as Rose Sibley. She also performed in Sydney for Frederick Ward's repertory and Little Theatre seasons in 1915 and 1916, then in Melbourne for Gregan McMahon from 1916 to 1918. In September 1925 she left Australia for the American stage, and she later moved to Hollywood to appear in motion pictures.
