Plot summary
Countess Marya Zaleska burns her father's body, hoping to be free of her thirst for blood, and the thirst remains. In London she overpowers those she meets with a jeweled ring. Professor Von Helsing, who drove the stake through Dracula's heart, is brought before Sir Basil Humphrey at Scotland Yard, and he asks for Dr. Jeffrey Garth, once his student, to speak for him. Garth meets the countess at a society party, where she asks him to release her from the presence she senses from beyond the grave. He tells her to meet her cravings head on, and she hopes that his methods and her own resolve can cure her.

- Gloria Holden was reportedly extremely displeased at being assigned the title role in Dracula's Daughter, her first starring part, fearing typecasting after watching Bela Lugosi struggle to escape Dracula. Critic Mark Clark believes her disgust for the part gave her performance a self-loathing that suited the character.
