William Prince
Biography
William Prince was an American actor whose work spanned Broadway, television, and film. Born in Nichols, New York, he left Cornell University as a senior to tour in a Federal Theatre production of The Taming of the Shrew, then gained experience at the Barter Theater and in Shakespeare with Maurice Evans. He made his Broadway debut in The Eternal Road, and appeared in Ah, Wilderness! and The Eve of St. Mark. He signed a film contract and went on to appear in Dead Reckoning, Destination Tokyo, and Objective Burma. A founding member of The Actors Studio in 1947, he worked mainly in 1950s television, including anthology dramas and the series Justice, and later had roles on soap operas such as Young Dr. Malone from 1958 to 1963. His films included Cyrano de Bergerac (1950), Network (1976), Family Plot (1976), The Gauntlet (1977), Spies Like Us (1985), and The Paper (1994).
