Biography
Ursula Andress is a Swiss retired actress who has worked in American, British, and Italian films. Born in Ostermundigen, Switzerland, she studied art in Paris before a producer offered her a screen test, leading to small parts in Italian movies such as An American in Rome (1954). Her breakthrough came as Honey Ryder in Dr. No (1962), the first James Bond film, and she won a 1964 Golden Globe for New Star of the Year for it. She played Vesper Lynd in the Bond parody Casino Royale (1967). Her other credits include Fun in Acapulco (1963), the title role in She (1965), The 10th Victim (1965), The Blue Max (1966), Red Sun (1971), Perfect Friday (1970), The Sensuous Nurse (1975), The Fifth Musketeer (1979), and Clash of the Titans (1981), where she was Aphrodite. She also participated in the Emmy-winning miniseries Peter the Great (1986) and appeared in The Cave of the Golden Rose 3 (1993).
