Plot summary
A third world war has ended, and to prevent a fourth, people with violent tendencies settle their aggression through the Big Hunt, the world's favorite entertainment. Each competitor plays ten rounds, half of them as hunter and half as prey, and whoever survives all ten grows rich and retires. Caroline Meredith has just made her ninth kill and is after a tenth, with the Ming Tea Company as sponsor and cameras waiting. Marcello Poletti is picked as her victim. His earlier prizes have gone to his mistress Olga and his former wife Lidia.
