Richard Moll
Biography
Richard Moll was an American actor who became best known as the bailiff Bull Shannon on the sitcom Night Court. Born in Pasadena, California, he attended the University of California, Berkeley, where he performed in Shakespeare plays. He appeared in Brigham (1977) as Joseph Smith. His height and deep voice led to hulking or imposing roles, including the Abominable Snowman in Caveman (1981) and as Xusia in The Sword and the Sorcerer (1982). He shaved his head to play Hurok in Metalstorm: The Destruction of Jared-Syn (1983), and the look helped him land Night Court, where he stayed from 1984 to 1992. He also voiced Two-Face for Batman: The Animated Series and for The New Batman Adventures, and Norman in Mighty Max. His first animated film role was a beat poet in Ralph Bakshi's American Pop (1981). Moll died in 2023.

Moll shaved his head in 1983 for the part of Hurok in the science fiction B movie Metalstorm: The Destruction of Jared-Syn. Night Court's producers saw the look at his audition and asked him to keep it.
