Plot summary
Father Lorenzo Esteban, a Spanish Satanist, and his followers are banished to the New World and told they are denied God's grace unless they renounce Satan. Centuries later, Stanley Coopersmith attends West Andover military academy, where classmates bully him for being an orphan and instructors mistreat him. His one friend there is a fellow cadet, Kowalski. Punished with cleaning the church cellar, Stanley finds a hidden room that belonged to Esteban and holds books of black magic, and he uses his computer skills to translate one of them from Latin. The translation describes rituals for the Black Mass and Esteban's promise that he will return. Stanley sets up a computer in the cellar to work on the ritual, and the machine tells him he still lacks blood and a consecrated host.

Did you know?!Facts and trivia about Evilspeak (1981)
Can contain spoilers, watch the movie first.
- Evilspeak was cited as a video nasty in the United Kingdom and stayed banned for years under the Video Recordings Act 1984 because of its gory climax and Satanism. When it was reclassified in 1987, over three minutes were cut, including most of the climax's gore; the BBFC passed it uncut in 2004.
- Evilspeak was shot over three weeks using Santa Barbara locations and a condemned church in South Central that was superficially renovated for the shoot, so a priest who had previously worked there got on his knees and prayed to God. The church burned to the ground about three days later.
- Actor Clint Howard revealed in a July 2017 interview for Gilbert Gottfried's Amazing Colossal Podcast that the film's producers made him pay for his own toupée.
