Jerry Hardin
Biography
Jerry Hardin is an American actor who built a long career in character roles on television and in film. Born in Dallas, Texas, he studied at Southwestern University on a scholarship and then at London's Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, graduating in 1953; he stayed in London for several years before returning to act in New York and in regional theater for twelve years. He began working in television in the 1950s and went on to more than 100 appearances. His film work includes Cujo (1983), Big Trouble in Little China (1986), Wanted: Dead or Alive (1987), Little Nikita (1988) and The Firm (1993), and he guest starred in series such as The Rockford Files, The Golden Girls and Star Trek: The Next Generation. His role in The Firm led Chris Carter to cast him as Deep Throat in The X-Files.

Big break
Chris Carter noticed Hardin because of his part in 1993's The Firm and gave him the recurring role of Deep Throat on The X-Files. Hardin figured his first appearance, in the first season's second episode, was a one-time job, yet he ended up commuting often to Vancouver on short notice.

Hardin studied at London's Royal Academy of Dramatic Art on a scholarship and graduated with an Acting (RADA Diploma) in 1953.
