Plot summary

Biotek passes itself off as an agricultural research center, but it is a secret laboratory for biological weapons. When a sealed tube breaks, a virulent bacteria escapes. Joanie Morse, who runs security at the plant, detects the release and starts the lockdown called Protocol One, which keeps every worker inside. Her husband, Cal Morse, is the county sheriff, and he is urged to seek help from Dr. Dan Fairchild, a former employee who once worked out a remedy for the weapon. Vic Flint, the father of one of the workers, joins the effort. A government Accident Containment Team under Major Connolly arrives, sets up quarantine procedures and gives the public a cover story about contaminated experimental yeast, while a rescue team prepares to carry the antidote in to the people trapped indoors.
