Byron Mann

Biography

Byron Mann is a Hong Kong-born American actor who moved into screen work after majoring in philosophy at UCLA and stepping away from law school to try acting in Hong Kong. His early film credits include Red Corner (1997) and The Corruptor (1999), and he is best known for playing Ryu in Street Fighter (1994) and Koh in Crying Freeman (1995). He co-starred in Catwoman (2004), appeared in The Man with the Iron Fists (2012), which RZA directed, and had a role in The Big Short. On television he was a series regular on Hell on Wheels as the railroad mercenary Chang, a part that brought him a 2016 Golden Maple Award nomination, and he played Uncle Six on the Netflix series Wu Assassins.
