Tony Ka Fai Leung
Biography
Tony Leung Ka-fai, born February 1, 1958, is a Hong Kong film actor who has won the Hong Kong Film Award four times. Often confused with Tony Chiu Wai Leung, he is nicknamed Big Tony while the other actor is called Little Tony, names that reflect their different physical statures. He has spent over three decades in film, playing many kinds of roles. His debut was Burning of the Imperial Palace (1983), in which he played the Xianfeng Emperor. He later worked with Yun-Fat Chow on Prison on Fire (1987) and A Better Tomorrow III: Love and Death in Saigon (1989), then on The Return of the God of Gamblers (1994). In 1991 he went to France to make The Lover (1992), Jean-Jacques Annaud's adaptation of a Marguerite Duras novel. His later work included Election (2005) and Everlasting Regret (2005), along with Double Vision (2002) and The Myth (2005).
